About this tool
Sometimes you just need to read a PDF — on a locked-down work machine with no PDF app, a borrowed computer, or a tablet where you don't want to install anything. This viewer opens any PDF instantly in your browser tab with smooth scrolling, sharp rendering at every zoom level, and selectable text.
It uses the same rendering engine as Firefox's built-in viewer, so even complex documents — embedded fonts, forms, unusual encodings — display faithfully. The toolbar stays out of your way: page navigation, zoom controls, and nothing else.
Privacy is the quiet advantage here. Web-based viewers usually mean uploading the document to someone's server. This one never does: the file is rendered from your device's memory, and when you close the tab it's gone.
Frequently asked questions
Can I open password-protected PDFs?
Not directly in the viewer yet. Remove the password first with the Unlock PDF tool (you'll need to know the password), then open the result here.
Can I copy text from the document?
Yes — text is selectable right on the page, just like in a desktop viewer. For extracting all of it at once, the PDF to Text tool is faster.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, yes — rendering happens locally, so you can open files without a connection.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. Documents with many hundreds of pages render progressively; very large scanned files depend on your device's memory.
