About this tool
Splitting a PDF means turning one document into several smaller ones — separating chapters of a book, breaking a year of bank statements into months, or isolating the signed page of a contract. This tool gives you three ways to do it: precise custom ranges, automatic fixed-size chunks, and full explosion into single pages.
Custom ranges are the most flexible: each comma-separated part of your input becomes its own file, and an open-ended range like "11-" means "from page 11 to the end". The every-N-pages mode is handy for batch-scanned documents where each logical document is a known number of pages. And one-file-per-page is the quickest way to get individual pages you can rearrange or share separately.
Multiple output files are bundled into a ZIP automatically, with each file named after the page range it contains. As with every PDFVenue tool, your document never leaves your device — splitting happens locally in your browser's memory.
Frequently asked questions
What does a range like "9-" mean?
A range with no end number runs to the last page. "9-" on a 20-page document produces pages 9 through 20. Likewise "-5" means pages 1 through 5.
Can ranges overlap?
Yes. "1-5, 3-8" produces two files, and pages 3–5 appear in both. This is useful when sections share a cover page.
How do I split every page into its own file?
Choose the "Every page" mode. A 30-page document produces 30 single-page PDFs, delivered as one ZIP download.
Is the original file modified?
Never. The tool reads your PDF and writes brand-new files. The original on your disk is untouched, so you can always start again.
